Dear Developers
Enough is enough! It’s time for you to come clean and take your responsibilities as developers seriously. We, the players, are beyond frustrated with how you’re handling this game’s development. What you’ve delivered is a half-baked product riddled with catastrophic bugs, especially the sound bug that has been around for over two years. This is an absolute disgrace and a slap in the face to everyone who has supported you with their money.

You earn your revenue because of us players – don’t ever forget that. And what do we get in return? A game that is plagued with so many issues it’s sometimes outright unplayable. You want to keep profiting from us but can’t even fix fundamental problems like the sound bug after all this time? Or do you simply not care?

If this continues, I won’t just request a refund on Steam; I’ll encourage every other player to do the same. And yes, even with over two hours of playtime, it’s possible to get a refund if the game is rendered unplayable due to such issues. Believe me, I’ll go through every detail with Steam, and the reasons are more than clear.

Two years of this sound bug – seriously? This isn’t just incompetence; it’s outright disrespect for your community. Do your job and do it properly! Enough with the empty promises and neglect. We players are the ones keeping your game alive. Without us, your project would have died a long time ago. Start respecting us, or you’ll soon feel the consequences as your community turns its back on you.

Hey! Thanks for your post.

Here is an update we shared back in November 2023:

"We want to be as open as possible about the complexity around the bug fixing process. We really value our community and player base, and we want to be honest and transparent about the process.

"Since the release of Brewmaster (Fall 2022), we have been keeping an eye on bug reports coming in and putting resources from our studio into addressing them.

"However, there comes a point in every game’s lifespan where it is no longer financially possible to continue putting development resource into reviewing, investigating, and working on bugs that come up. Sadly, we have hit this point for Brewmaster. However, our customer service teams here and at our publisher Fireshine Games are still open to help look for workarounds or common fixes for currently known bugs in the game. We will make sure to update our FAQ resources with these common fixes (if possible), as well as monitoring and assisting with the community forums to offer advice and tips. But I can confirm that we won’t be patching, updating or fixing the game regularly moving forward.

"We do appreciate this may not be the response you were hoping for, and we wish we could do more as Brewmaster is a game that’s close to our hearts with the many years we have spent working on it to make it as fun as possible, but we have to move on to other projects that you will hopefully be able to enjoy as well in the future."
SO guys to sum up the developers message. They wont update the game. why the long unnecessary message?. this is it guys.

Hahaha the developer response 100% convinced me to not only NOT purchase this game, but to never purchase a game made by these fools.

They basically said we dont have the resources to fix our broken game but have the resources to move on to a brand new game.

This screams of incompetent developers and as such should not be allowed to charge money for their laziness and inability.
To be fair, I do find it odd to pretty much drop support of a game after just over a year of it being live.

Same here. It just makes no sense why bugs that were discovered day one were not fixed before they stopped updating the game. Updates are how people end up buying the game as people enjoy continued support. It is how you develop a loyal playerbase who will buy your other products. The new mars game looked interesting but I am not touching these devs with a 10 foot pole in the future.
Well, it's a good thing I read this before picking it up while it was on sale. I've no interest in supporting a company that does something like this. This game looked like a lot of fun, but I always research a little beforehand, and finding that they just outright abandoned this game and conjured up some lame response to this thread, completely pushes me away from having any desire to purchase it even for the sale price.
"We don't have the funds to fix bugs or continue to update this game" but in the same breath "We are focusing on putting all our funds into new games". So they totally contradicted themselves. They do INDEED have the funds, but chose not to put into a game that people have already purchased and spent time on.

Yikes.
This is so sad for me as I am a beer enthusiast, I was really hoping to find the game was going to be updated at some point, any of you know of another developer that has this kind of game?

Yet you're still patrolling the discussion boards and begging for undeserved recognition while shilling the knowingly broken game on anyone who doesn't know every Steam sale. Put your money where you're mouth is and delist the game if you're done profiting from it.

I knew a guy who worked at Sony for a while. After he left, a serious problem was discovered in a game on which he had been lead programmer. He somehow snuck back into the offices and fixed the problem. For quite some time no one even knew he had done it.
My god, I've never seen so many entitled gamers, before.

This isn't Fortnite or any other live service game.
All regular games eventually reach a point they're finished and not worked on anymore.

Heck, Titanic is still for sale on Steam, and hasn't been updated since 1996, before most of you were alive (apart from a patch used to make it run on 32-bit OS. And that was fans that did that).

Brewmaster hit it's end of life a little quicker than expected, but it's all legal and justified.

It's not that they gave up, it's that they gave up while it's still riddled with bugs. It's cool that you're fine with that kind of garbage though, thanks for sharing.
Was planning on buying the game but after seeing that sad excuse for a Dev post I decided against it and will be telling my friends not to buy it either
