Full of Faults
I've been brewing for over 20 Years. Run a homebrew supply store, started and lead a homebrew club for 13 years.
I've put 8 hours into this game and know that an actual brewer had nothing to do with this game. This game is full of mis information and broken concepts.
I'm at the quest to use a cooling "unit" to complete the season goal or whatever.

* Extract to all grain in 3 quests with zero tutorial on the importance of cleaning and sanitation in brewing. Meanwhile the game mentions "Contanimation" in the mash because its not the perfet temp. What does this even mean?
* They want you to tube transfer all the liquids and say that pouring from the kettle to fermenter causes contanimation. How are you suppose to properly aerate/oxygenate the wort for a healthy fermentation which is actually needed for the yeast.
* So I use used a small wort chiller in the 25L pot and it took at 8 hours to chill, Yes the water was connected and turn on. this is completely rediculous. After all that the quest never completed even though i used the "chiller"
* Mash Tun (Basic Blue cooler MT) lost 7ºC over an hour even after adding 3L of 90ºC water 15 minutes into the mash. this just doesn't happen in real life if your inside a house at room temperature.
* you can't put the lid partially on while chilling but in the "pedia" of the game. increase contamination if you put a lid on the kettle at all... again makes no sense
* tried adding yeast to 21L out of 25L fermentation container and it would NOT let me until i drained off to 15L. But then was able to add back all the wort i drained off without a problem. This makes no sense. Maybe the game is trying to allow some headspace for fermentation but 150ML to 20L for a 25L container seems reasonable to me.
* Recipes. So far the recipes provided are not even close to the styles they want you to brew. Chocolate malt in a hazy, English hops and yeast in a Belgian.... If this was fictional game and a side gig in like the Witcher or WoW that would be one thing. This game is touting a Simulator and is completely off base.

I hope the devs can fix these initial ussues. But to call this a simulator would be a farce. It doesn't hold a candle to anything realistic in current brewing practices or recipes nor the last 15 years. Someone looking to try this game before getting into the hobby for real life will learn a lot of bad information which is the plague of this amazing hobby and willl stear people into developing bad habits before they even turned the kettle on IRL.

I'm sure I am not the first to mention at least one of the problems i've listed. Good luck.
At this stage I'd still consider this game Beta sub 100 and would not be charging people to miseducate.

To answer the first bit : Contamination is a catchall in this. It's protein levels, bacteria levels, undissolved substances, etc. "Contamination" here just means "anything that isn't crystal clear"

Contamination doesn't rise when you pour it into the fermenter directly, you only need the tube to fill a carboy but they're bugged and fatal to pretty much any yeast right now so ignore them.

You can attach a pump to the output end of a chiller to accelerate its speed, but as long as you stop the chill around 40-43c and put the lid on after the contamination growth is minimal (usually less than 2%)

Also worth noting the coolers are bugged as well, as are tubes, and fluid flow.

The lack of focus on sterilization (or sanitization, whatever) weirded me out at first, but that is SUCH a mundane, boring part of a process in a game that is already walking a VERY thin line of mundanity. I feel like leaving this out is doing so for the sake of pacing and fun. PERSONALLY I wouldn't mind there potentially being a "Hardcore" game mode that allowed this aspect, but forcing it on everyone would 100% alienate people already on the edge of tolerating the pace.

I have never once gotten the impression that the game wants you to tube-transfer everything.

The quest part sounds like a bug, I think mine cleared but I'd have to check. That said I have a lot of interest in how the dev got to their heat transfer information in this game. I'm not a scientist, I won't claim to know, but both the flow rate of that god forsaken faucet, and the heat exchange rates in this game *Feel* wrong.

This also seems like a bug. I have put 21 even litres into conditioning containers and managed to open the damn thing and it would spill because it had 21.1 when I came back.

I'll back you up that I would like it to be accurate for the tone the game is going for...but honestly does that matter? No one plays "Farming Simulator" for its gritty realism, same with Power Wash simulator, gas station simulator...or...any of the wealth of simulators. At some point you have to stop worrying about an absolute adherence to realism, otherwise cross the line from a relaxing simulator game, to a boring corporate simulator that they hand out to train people with all game-ification removed and feels like a chore.

There's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disclaimer at the beginning, and this is 100% still a simulator. Just like all the rest (farming, construction, truck driving, whatever) it's not meant to appeal to the people who already do it, and be 100% correct to life, and to call this a beta game considering the polish is kind of a jerk move. Calm the heck down.
