Toughts and Suggestions
1. Start with cooling.
Some sort of cooling for the start would both help speed up the gameplay and be more in line with the classic homebrewing experience. I don't think I know anyone who didnt at least try to improvise a cooling solution and it's pretty important to brewing overall.

2. Different gravity units.
Where I worked we used Plato and some other industries use Brix. Having the option to swap
to what you prefer would be nice.

3. Different measuring units
Ties in to the point above, atm I only saw metric but maybe throw the americans and british a bone by including their systems.

4. Better temperature balancing on the stove.
During mashing the temperature kept increasing or decreasing too fast and even when i only scrolled one tick on the mouse the temperature had a tendency to rocket away from what i consider acceptable margins.

5. Fitting more malt in the pot/pot with a mash bed.
I can totally fit more than 2kg of malt in a 25 liter pot, come on!

6. Yeast behaves weird.
I underpitched the yeast in my first beer by accident but instead of rapidly multiplying to proper amounts after a week like it should have, the original gravity had only gone down by 0.002, producing less than 1% alcohol. After 2 weeks it had reached the expected final gravity so at least it seemed to balance out.

7. Carbonation before taste testing.
Atm it seems like you can only produce flat beers because there is no option to bottle ferment before taste testing. I know pushing co2 into a keg is planned but bottle fermentation is a classic way, plus you get to add bottle explosions for the true experience!

8. Egg timer.
I know it's been mentioned before, but it would really help a lot when simulating the true experience. Atm it's kinda hard to keep track and I just ended up chasing numbers instead of using the proper process.

9. Step by step recipes.
For the less freeform of us, planning a brew, following the steps and seeing the results would be nice. It could also help people not familiar with brewing with getting an understanding of the process.

10. Brewing outdoors.
It's nice and relaxing.

Nice concept so far, I'm looking forward to the full release!

1: I'm sure that's coming. That said, no-chill is a thing in areas with hot ground water.

3: You can choose to use Imperial from the escape menu.

7: You can carbonate in the conditioning vessel. Just add priming sugar (dextrose is in the cabinet with the grains).

Oh, didn't realize you could do a secondary ferment in the conditioning vessel. Blinded by my own method I guess.
As for imperial, guess I was just blind. o_o

Seems like there are step by step recipes that you can pin as well; in the magazine, I found them by accident so maybe some tutorial steps or some more pop could make that feature stand out more.

I was looking through the F1 menu, and you can actually purchase some more equipment and ingredients. So you can buy a small cooler mash tun, and grain. After purchasing, it arrives at the front door in a box.

Edit: You can also use the grain in the kettle you get from the start, and since they aren't "steeping" grains you can fit more. The electric kettle can be used to mash as well. can't add steeping grains or hops to boil though, for some reason. Still good for getting a high gravity wort, and keeping the mash temps steady.

These other features are pretty buggy though.

I can only find steeping grains, where are the normal grains?

Also some toughts about making the Calendar UI/UX more in line with the rest of the game:
Let us scroll to add/subtract days, the scroll wheel is used in a lot of other places so it's intuitive to try to adjust the day skipping using it. The mouse click icon on "Accept" also makes it look like you can just click the mouse without hovering the button to confirm skipping so either implement that or skip showing the mouse button to reduce confusion.

Number 4 is really annoying, there's no way to stabilize the temperature enough.

It does stabilize exactly on 149 degrees for steeping, but i agree.

That said, the electric kettle in the shop holds temp perfectly (and heats more quickly).

If you press F1, then hit F or click "Catalogue" (in screenshot), then you can purchase equipment and ingredients from there. Grains are under the ingredients tab in the shop. Should have Maris Otter and Golden Promise look-a-likes, as well as chocolate, crystal 10L, and Caravienne.

Is there a list of equipment you can get from the catalog ? I missed out on the demo but am super stoked to play the game. I am a homebrewer and want to see all the birtual toys I can play with in game...
Auroch Matty  [developer] 14 Sep, 2022 @ 2:07am
Yes there is!
demonllama955 22 Sep, 2022 @ 1:41am
Sorry, I meant is there a list I can see now? I'd like to see how many brewing options there will be and the types of equipment included.

As a side note, are you planning any expansions or added gear later? It would be awesome to see things like the Anvil Foundry or Brewzilla systems added (if they aren't already in game).

We haven't announced a full list of what is available but if you have a look though our images on steam, you can have a peek
