How to keep your players playing
As I progressed a bit into the game, I unlocked steam achievements, like anyone would do playing the game.
What strikes me is where you see that insane drop off when you achieved something that seems "easy" to you, and you soon realize that that cliff is insane between those 2 early steps.
From the "complete the first task" to "brew an all grain beer" you went from 60% to 30%.

And then I watched a couple of the very few YouTubers that actually offer playthrough of this game. And the struggle seems to lay in a tiny stupid phrasing in the reciepes of the game that throw a lot of peeps off, and set them to put the game off (assumption of mine, but may be pretty accurate)

The first time you have to brew an all grain, I don't recall any words from Jeff about how picky you have to be with your mash temperature.
The thing is, the recipe tells you to keep your temp stable (65°C) and you can do that by adding some hot water. So like the probably vast majority, I added hot water as soon as it dropped under 64°C... leading to the always same results I saw in the YouTubers videos... not having room to add your 11L of 100°C hot water.

Damn was it that hard to give a hint that until you really get the better / best equipement, you should not really try "that hard" to keep those 65°C ?
OFC that's what you aim for in the best of scenario, and you probably can achieve that with later equipement (a point where I'm not even yet, but just took a look at equipement in sandbox), but I litterally have seen a YouTuber doing the same thing +10x of adding water and then draining the mash to add the 11L. And still not getting it, as thus trying his best to avoid prepping an all grain.

Auroch, Do yourself a favor... Add quickly something VERY VISIBLE in the "tutorial" for that very first all grain mash preparation... Like telling the player it's OK (not perfect but ok) to add SOME hot water only once after 30 min. And then let your Mash do it's thing.

That's probably the very first and biggest single moment in the game where you lose players for something really not worth losing them (and maybe having them to drop a negative review then)

Only the braves ones that really experiment and don't care much about a recipe will survive this, but we are few as your achievements completion suggests.
Complete Jeff's scenario, only 14% yeah... And since it's after that all grain brewing...

I also found that moment when you try to go from "Oh I have a reciepe that matches the demand" to "Oh... ok how am I gonna do that all by myself" quite steep.

Win a competition, only 3.3%, and to me it seemed like an easy win at the first one. Because I like to experiment and not follow a recipe, because I love cooking and it's how I do it when I cook. I read a recipe and then cook it once or twice with support, let sink in the general informations, and then, off we go without following anything. That has been with any meal from China, to France to Mexico, to USA, From bread to Ice cream, to desserts, to soups, etc.
Funny I don't do beers as I'm a bit on the verge with gluten, so yeah, Cider it is for me as a drink.

So for a stage after that first all grain, find a way to help your playerbase to more progressively get out of the "follow recipe" mode by using a few more steps by maybe using a point where you are guided to use a recipe, but change one ingredient at a step so they fully understand the concept of "experiment yourself". Like why not taking a recipe that has no pineapple in it's flavor, and telling him to create one by using this very hop (that you recieved) and to reach whatever lvl of that flavor note.

I don't think this is a problem. I failed the first time I tried this "all grain" mission because, same, jnot enough space for the hot water.
I just did it again and didn't bother about keeping the temp and it worked.

if people just get stuck because they can't manage that, sorry but they are
1) not using their brain
2) might play something else

1) Glad you have a brain
2) Glad you don't have to make money with managing something with that mentality, because you will fail.
3) Glad to see it's your very first post in that forum, I feel very honored that in all the possible posts it's the one you decided to post for such a constructive input 👍🏻
