What made the Thief series so fun was you could hide in the darkness and guards would walk right by you while whistling or talking to themselves or they'd stop to talk to other guards while you planned your next move.
And there was something just fun and exciting to enter a castle from multiple entrance points with eerie music and seeing torch and candle light bouncing off the walls till you extinguished them with water arrows or your fingers. And crouch walking by sleeping guards and civilians and stealing everything from their sleeping quarters while they snored and panicking when their snoring became disrupted and you were certain they were gonna wake up and catch you red handed or, in the case of civilians, go running and screaming for the guards to come.
And most of all, I miss being called a "Taffer" =D hahaha
Don't forget being called a "Choffer" (dishonored 1) hahaha
