After showing menderbot the picture , I can no longer move or open the menu or inventory, trying to close the game tells me I can't do that during a cutscene - the only button that responded was the one to 'unequip' my current item.

Is he stuck between two walls, Niko, and a green crystal?

If so, close the game via task manager (don't do this outside of this scenario), and it will send you to an earlier point.
You can still give him the photo afterwards, just not in that specific corner.

yup seems that has not been fixed. hit that exact same bug. good to know how to fix though
