Rose of meat

How is one supposed to beat that game? I mean, I found Gunn and he asked me to get 3 wooden logs for the boat but how do I find it if the entire forest turns dark an red and you can't see ♥♥♥♥.

There are enemies in the forest that turn into wood when you kill them. I agree though it is very hard to see in there.

Like Nakina mentioned, they're in the forest, and drop wood upon death. They also turn from humanoid creatures into large, more colorful monsters once you get close enough to them. .
