Soulash
Unplayable Framedrop in Capitol City
Not much to say. I'm not a technical guy, so I wouldn't really know where to start with troubleshooting. However, my pc is decent enough to run what I would consider much more demanding games than Soulash(Good example would be open world games, such as Elden Ring or Skyrim).

Anyway, the further I get into the capitol city, the worse the frames are becoming. Just recently it's gotten to the point where I can no longer select any actions without spamming the button and hoping for the best; It's like I'm running at 2 frames a second!!! Makes me feel like this section of the game is very un-optimized. It also has me worrying that this will become a recurring theme in other more densely populated areas of the map.

Capital city is the only overpopulated place on the map. I think it's because every citizen's movement will be calculated, and there are over 200 of them, so it's a significant number. Eliminating every npc you spotted may be a way to fix it temporarily (but very time consuming). Hope there will be a patchfix to solve this out.

Dwarf Fortress also has a similar issue with calculation and overpopulation (very noticeable in its Adventure Mode) hence the term 'FPS Death' the community uses.

When I switched from a HDD to a SSD, my performance in Dwarf Fortress improved significantly and everything calculated much faster, so I'm guessing it's a CPU and storage device-related thing.

(E: Confused a game that gave me a RAM issue with Dwarf Fortress.)

Unfortunately, I do not have to patience to dedicate however many hours(and new mice, with the amount of clicks it takes before an action actually registers) to clear the city. I hope they fix this soon; I have already gone over the refund time period limit.

Yea, I stopped playing after a couple hours in the city. I couldn't take it anymore. Wait until it rains, it gets even worse. This is with 9900k at 5Ghz and a 2080 Ti.

Hey guys, the slowdowns are usually the result of AI getting stuck, for example, they attempt to get to a bed or under a roof but the path they chose is blocked. I'm looking into this, and if you happen to have a save file where you experience a massive lag, it would help me tremendously to catch it sooner if you could send me the save files on Discord. :)
