I don't understand enemy spawns.
Okay, so how does the enemy spawn mechanics work? I recall reading that enemies only spawn on world generation and do not respawn but that doesn't seem to be the case.

For example; i head to a village, the one next to the river near spawn point. I kill every single villager i can find, i search every house and every inch of the place and nobody else is found alive but somehow, when i go to sleep in one of the houses im getting constantly interrupted by villagers screaming and attacking me. No matter what i do, i can kill them and go back to sleep but they keep coming.

So, what is happening? Are they really respawning or are they just all hiding in a closet waiting for me to go to sleep and strike me down?

There is a lot of them roaming around, if you stick near the start they can come back here from north, west and south. Mostly from west tho.
There is really a lot of them.
It does seems to be finite tho, by the time i'm lv10+ the area where i setup camp is empty of anything alive (beside mushroom, I keep finding more of them).

It's more easy to understand the amount of population there is when you reach the capital.

note : you can cut down tree and drag trunk to block off an area. Some ability let you jump over them so nothing will come bothering you.
