Where do i get Sand?

Anyone knows where or how i can get sand to craft some vials?
I have a Shovel and dug up some sandpiles in the desert but there i get nothing, mining some sandwalls only gets me sandstone.

I saw piles of sand near the sea of swords. You can find sea of swords at northern end of the map I believe. I didn't have a shovel for it, but you will find small and large piles of sand.

Tons of it out east of the mountain range, through the caves. There are some pretty beefy enemies there, however, so don't go in unaware.

I feel like neither of you read OP's Question. Using a shovel on sand piles does not yield sand.
I am also curious about this OP, I'm guessing its a bug.

I read his question, but I mentioned I had no shovel to know it the sand works or not. It claims in tooltip that the sand can be dug up near the piles at the sea of swords.
