Fun fact, you do not lose all your death ergo, only part of it, if you die again. And the new amount will be placed on your last death spot.

Kinda the same thing happened to me in the DLC too. I got killed by the bear at the beginning of the DLC but the lost ergo wasn't in my death spot... or any spot. There was no ball of ergo but the lost ergo number in red was still on my hud. Maybe it spawned below the ground, I dunno. I just let it go. It was around 300k so I was kinda miffed.
