Adjusting DLC difficulty in future update
Seen this on Eurogamer https://www.eurogamer.net/lies-of-p-overture-will-have-difficulty-reduced-in-future-update

I am on NG+ 3 or 4, don't remember. The base difficulty is fine. You added the easier modes, so why would you adjust the base difficulty still? Let it be. Adjust the easy modes, what's their point otherwise?

Makes me feel rushed to complete it pre-nerf like the main story. I like the DLC so far.

Some people are reporting getting 2 shot by trash mobs in the first area on NG+. Maybe your build and loadout makes it fine for you, but other builds being hit that hard isn't entirely fair
I'm in a fresh play and just hit the dlc, and it's balanced fine. I play on Legendary. The bigger stuff does hit hard, but not 2-shot hard nor without the means to counter big hits and recover. If Neowiz really wants to, please adjust nerfs for your easy modes and leave Legendary alone. Stop bending the knee for those who can't handle the rules as is. They're never, ever happy no matter what changes are implemented.

Besides which, the game cycle now assumes the dlc has been run which means if the first play of the dlc occurs on NG+, it has to assume loot/levels gained from a previous cycle. Not many players at this point will have been able to see the differences between dlc new game and ng+ yet having run it in multiple cycles.

I just finished the DLC and yeah naw, the tuning is definitely out of wack, atleast on NG+'s, the designs, are cool, but in no world should enemies that have extremely lengthy combo strings be doing as much damage as they do, uh if you're still trying to finish the dlc before any nerfs, would recommend the perfect parry grinder, especially on the final boss (wont spoil it), as he can dish out dozens of hits in a single attack chain and each hit can do anywhere from a 3rd to half your health lol.

They literally answered your question "We identified areas that did not turn out quite as we intended," he continued. "Therefore, we are reviewing various adjustments, including difficulty reduction."

Read the article.

I did run a test between base NG and NG+ for the DLC.
I was getting cooked in NG+ too in the DLC to a point where I refused to believe this much damage was intended. So I "borrowed" a savegame from "somewhere" that was in base NG.
My NG+ character was lvl 180ish on NG+ (not NG+2 or 3 or slt). The base NG character was lvl 90ish, with a lot less health (25 base ng vs 60 ng+)

The hardest difficulty on base NG (Legendary Stalker) still felt like ten times easier than the lowest possible (Butterfly's Guidance) difficulty on the NG+ character and the base NG character could survive more hits than the NG+ character.
I think that tells you, that something is up with the NG+ scaling for the DLC. It should not have made such a huge difference being in NG+ compared to base NG, imo.

Idk where "broken balance" begins in DLC on NG+
Playing NG+2, reached first big boss, balance is great. Like, 5-10% harder than base game. I'm sure coz I've just run 9 chapters with all side quests to get to DLC.
First big DLC boss doing same 4-5 hits to kill as any other bosses.
The only difference is tiny frame windows and only multihit attacks

Biggest problem is wolves, I've spent like 4 lives against group of 3 wolves, coz they just attack without pauses

Because you are not the audience for this change. If you are at NG+3 or 4 at this point, it does not matter what base difficulty was, is or will be.

Lol I had the same issue with the wolves on NG+. 2 munches and you are toast.

Puppet string makes traversal much easier. There's almost no times you have to fight two wolves and can't just grab one with puppet string (I think there is one instance where you have to fight 2 at once).

NG+ SHOULD be a lot harder than base NG. We already proved we had the skill to win on NG and we get a ton of bonuses on NG+ with more p-organ upgrades, upgraded amulets and armor, and of course just more levels so we can easily pump vit to 100 by the time you reach the DLC on NG+.

The DLC feels perfectly playable even if every enemy 2 shot you (which they won't if you have proper vitaility). You have the tools to not get hit more than once in a row and a ton of healing items.

What would you consider "proper vitality"? With 84 vitality I was still getting killed in 2 bites from a dog, 2 punches from a monkey, etc. in NG+.
100 vitality is proper vitality for NG+ DLC. Defenses make a moderate difference as well. Worst case you can throw on the amulet that makes you take less physical damage.

In NG+3 I've got 987 health and none of the weak tier of enemy 2 shot me as far as I'm aware. Even then though, you usually can dodge out between their hits as long as you don't rush in and get surrounded.

I'd consider the monkey guys to be mid tier enemies, they probably will kill you in two hits unless you are discharged.

In fact, if you've got enough of the upgrades, you might ironically have an easier time exploring while discharged. You get the charge back pretty quickly with everything that increases it and the damage reduction and guard regain increase is pretty substantial.

agreed please leave legendary alone.. idk i tried a few of the tanky mobs on lower settings an they were way easier to kill an this is on ng+3 i'm kinda not getting the purpose of the patch cause lowering the setting to make it doable seems to work fine

Thanks. I normally run with the shield and perfect parry grindstone and tend to forget to use them or am too slow when I remember while I panic :tgrin:

I ended up using them for the boss, which made the battle quite trivial. It definitely felt unbalanced - both too easy and too hard. It was up to the items and circumstances to turn up right. I didn't even have the chance to learn his moves but it was still alright.

I also think the team mate is quite overpowered https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR5K0mYAhK0

I had to replay a bit of the DLC on NG+ 5 to get the last record after the new patch and I honestly still don't get why they nerfed the basic monsters. I liked the challenge before. I don't mind it anymore since I completed it before the patch, so not too much of a loss I suppose.
