Does poise exist?
So I did my first real fight that made me kinda mad. Not angry like this is annoying or bad, Just boring broken ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you can grow to expect from this genre. So I found a "Sub boss" called (The Survivor) and it was hilarious. It forced me to ask this question to myself. How is it this enemy has infinate stamina, can chain 3 hit into a charged power 3 hit, while we apply the rules of collision, I can't seem to dodge and when I do, the distance is closed. I can block forever, But it can attack faster than I can block and the stamina is impossible to crack. It is a battle of chip damage. I can't run, I can't parry and when I do hit it, It does not wiggle.

I can R2 2 times at most before it can begin the next 3 chain to push me into another corner. Healing takes 2.2 seconds, It attacks in 1.7 seconds. I can't make space, dodge or attack. The only way I beat it was take 3 hits, poke one time. Take 3 and dodge the red, poke 1 time. So I can be staggered by a hot fart, but I can't bash anything in this game. They are all robots, or mike tyson tough and can take batons and swords to the face, I can't deal with 1 of a 3 move combo.

Is this just a premonition of things to come?

Well, I have good/bad news. You'll get the hang of it. The Survivor is optional. And he's one of the easier enemies in the game, seriously. You'll start to notice he has a lot of punish windows, you can easily maneuver to his back and get some free fatal attacks, and heavy attacks often stun him out of his attack combos.

I am a failure in positive means. I beat the mean dude. Got past fire boss. How was the fire boss easier than that dude?

Fun game.

Nah, you're just doing it wrong.

The human midbosses in this game can be a little tricky to deal with because they fight completely differently than everyone else in the game, mainly using normal weapons the player will have access to, but with beefed stats since they're not players. If you fight them the same way as everyone else, you probably get locked into a long, protracted parry war where you can't really do anything except wait to trigger stagger.

One miniboss in particular will punish you extremely hard if you fight her like this.

However, there is one tactic that they're pretty universally weak to (the other guy already brought this up): they're easy to backstab.

Basically, keep your weight down and remember your dodge when you're fighting humans. If you just sit in one spot like you're nailed in place, humans will find it much easier to kill you.

Fights against Stalkers (i.e humans) is all about Perfect Guarding to break their weapon.
