Just whenever you beat the game, go back and do the DLC.

Beat the game but doing NG+ with a Motivity build, i'll finish that then start a fresh play through.
Either is fine. If you start into the DLC right as soon as it's available, you may have some difficulty or may not. If it feels too tough, just progress through the main game for a while longer and get a few more levels.

Different builds don't really matter. Overall, Motivity or Technique aren't unequivocally superior or inferior to each other. Level high enough though, and Quality will always be the strongest option no matter what.

You posted this less than 10 minutes ago lol, I thought you hadn't started NG+ yet. NG+ scales up everything, pretty sure, including the DLC, so if you're going into the DLC on NG+, you should (probably) still wait until the end of the game.
What do you mean can you play technique? You think only motivity is viable or something?
The new claw weapon, and the new bow weapon scale with technique, and you get them fairly early in the dlc too.
either right when you unlock it for a hard challenge, or after tha main game for a challenging but fair experience.

recommended level on LS would be 80-120 starting imo. (80 being the low low end)
NG is far easier compared to NG+. Most bosses could kill me in 2 or 3 hits on NG+ and even some basic enemies could wreck me even with 50+ vitality. The last boss could kill me even if I was blocking after 5 hits for example with the highest damage reduction gear equipped.

With that said though, NG+ isn’t too difficult but I would recommend NG as it is a lot more tolerable.
I'm going in on level 413, so seemingly OP, but also on NG+2, so I'm fully expecting to get pummeled. Default difficulty.
