Deposit not working

Hello all, I seem to have a problem, or at least I'm doing something wrong: when I try to deposit stuff on checkpoints, they don't stay there and reappear in my inventory instead... Is this normal?

Pretty sure the game auto restocking you is the issue.

The main things to store are weapons and amulets and they stay stored.

I think he is talking about using the stargazer storage but that is a wild guess no sarcasm it is cryptic

Yes sorry to you all, I was talking about storing things in the Stargazer. I think I misunderstood the game, since I was trying to store ergo's but I now see that it is impossible to do.
