But I prefer Carcass Crystal Axe Handle, as it has Advanced scale and also awesome moveset with few steps dash on charge attacks, so you can charge from distance and use elemental damage. But it's for NG+, coz you will open it only in late game
Do NOT use the boss ergos you get for defeating them to gain more ergo points. Once you make your way 2/3rds through the Cathedral area, you will meet a merchant who will sell you great weapons for them. You can get a greatsword from the Parade Master's ergo which is a great combined motivity/technique weapon, which can carry you through the entire game if you so choose.
The Booster Glaive handle is great, too. The charged heavy shoots you forward, and it's surprisingly fast to boot.
Feel free to change your handle based on the situation. The Greatsword of Fate blade is proficient in both slash and stab damage, so it works with any handle. Its only downside is its weight.
Even if Motivity is your primary damage stat, it seems high for the part of the game you're at. Vitality and Capacity take higher priority. Make sure you can equip the best armor available and that you're never getting two-shot. After that, you can invest in offenses and stamina.
Oh, and make sure to guard. Not just perfect guard, but normal guarding. The Greatsword of Fate blade has a high Guard Rate.
Holy Sword of the Arc (from Fuoco Ergo) is a very solid weapon, with a good moveset (only if you transform into the Glaive), and a good blocking.
On my motivity runs, i stick with fate until i reach the guy that trades for boss ergo, as fate just has such a great move set.
