DLC Difficulty Dilemma – Need Your Thoughts!
let me ask you fine folks somethin’.

I’ve got a little question about this DLC thing goin’ on.

Is there a big difference between:

(Normal - Awakened Puppet)
vs
(Hard - Legendary Stalker)?

Here’s the deal: I’m about to head into the DLC with my Level 75 character. I’ve been streaming this bad boy in a series, but I’ve only got about 2 hours per session yeah, time ain’t always on my side.

So here’s my plan: I’m thinkin’ of goin’ in on Normal so I can give folks a smooth ride maybe clear an area and a boss per session, you know? Keep things movin’.

But I can already hear my viewers sayin’:
“Where’s the Big D challenge,?”
“Is this the P…y challenge?”
“What are we watchin’ here, a story mode?”

And look… I get it. They want the thrill. But the truth is, I don’t want to be stuck on some bosses for 3 hours straight. That’s a whole stream gone

The kind of challenge I’m lookin’ for? Somethin’ like Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, or the base game of Elden Ring tough, but fair.

So… what do y’all think? Should I stay humble? Or do I give ‘em the pain they’re askin’ for?

Appreciate the opinions, and thanks for hearin’ me out.

there is a big difference statistically but it doesn't seem to have any bearing on enemy movesets. You'll still get thrashed if you don't respect how much faster and complex DLC enemies are compared to most of the base game. With that in mind, given your time constraints, current level, and preferences, playing on Awakened Puppet would be a good idea.

Without spoiling too much, the game strongly encourages you to treat its hardest fight like a story setpiece the first time through regardless of difficulty, and you can refight most non-Stalker bosses through Battle Memories if you want to run them back afterwards in which they're locked to Legendary Stalker difficulty. Lv1 isn't quite identical to NG scaling but it's close enough.
The DLC's final boss, as Plumber accurately noted, is a visual treat and a narrative highlight, even when not played on the toughest setting. This brings up a age old predicament for streamers: Do you commit to the highest difficulty, potentially dying repeatedly but maintaining viewer engagement through constant interaction and narration? Or do you play on Awakened Puppet difficulty, striking a balance between challenge and progress that keeps the fight compelling rather than a tiresome ordeal for your audience? personally like most souls games it is a journey and people want to see you finish that journey so i would say go awakened puppet, afterwards you can give the boss rush a go on the higher difficulties. it is completely up to you and i am sure the stream will be spectacular.

Well damn, folks I truly appreciate all your answers.

Looks like I’ll be playin’ it on Normal, just to keep the stream flowin’ smooth and avoid gettin’ stuck too long on those nasty bosses.

Thanks again for the support, y’all are the real MVPs.

Why does having only 2 hours to play at a time matter? Do you have a quota of games you have to beat per month? It shouldn't be a factor.

You're just looking for excuses to play on normal. Man up

Because if he plays badly he will be stuck on the same area or boss for the whole stream, which viewers may find boring to watch, if he plays on a more easier difficulty then he can engage with chat more and they will enjoy the game flowing at a more consistent rate. but it is completely up to him.

Just so you know, Legendary Stalker is "Normal".
From the in-game description for Legendary Stalker: "The standard difficulty for players who enjoy tense action games. You can experience the story while enjoying challenging combat."
With the DLC, they added two easier difficulties below the "standard".

I'd just keep it on Legendary Stalker. The levels are structured so you're never too far away from wherever you died, and none of the bosses are damage sponges.

Keep it on stalker, I did it starting at 80. The bastard dude took me the most attempts. (10). If you’re getting rocked up close, just start baiting attacks. Unlike From games, it’s way easier to do here.
