Problem starting the game, error code: 2e4
Hello everyone, I am writing this post because I do not know how to solve my problem with launching the game Lies of P. Let me explain: when I launch the game, I get an error, error code 2e4. As far as I know, this is a fairly common error associated with launching, and I decided to look for an answer on the Internet, YouTube, chat GPT, Deep Seek, nothing helped, or rather it helped but not in my case, I tried: checking the integrity of the files, clearing the Steam cache, reinstalling the game and even tried renaming the Steam downloading folder, everything is fine, except for one point: the .exe file I managed to launch the game through it, but if everything was so simple, I would not be writing this post. This method was enough for me for exactly 2 launches, after that I also tried to launch through the .exe file but everything is fine. And now the background: for me it started a little over a month ago after the update: 1.9.0.0. Before this update, my game worked stably and there were no problems, but after the update, the game stopped launching and started giving error code 2e4. If you have encountered this problem or know how to solve it, please help🙏. This text has been translated into English, so the translation may not be correct. If you need to clarify something, write to me and I will clarify.

- Disable both compatibility mode and run this program as administrator within LOP.exe

- Within the Lies of P folder above LOP.exe click on the LiesofP folder then click Binaries after that Win64. Within there is something called LOP-Win64-Shipping.exe.

- Disable both compatibility mode and run this program as administrator within LOP-Win64-Shipping.exe.

- Restart computer

- Once your computer reboots try running the game directly from either the LOP.exe or LOP-Win64-Shipping.exe. Also try clicking start for Lies of P within the steam library.

I don't know if this will work, but given your situation I'm basically throwing everything against the wall at this point. Reply once you've tried this.

I've looked online and there are several things that you could do to try and fix this issue.

- Right click on the LOP.exe and select properties. Open the compatibility tab and select compatibility mode. Finally choose either Windows 7 or 8.

- Right click on the LOP.exe and select properties. Open the compatibility tab. Under Settings select Run this program as an administrator.

- Update your GPU drivers to the latest version.

If any of these don't work just reply and I'll think of something else that might help.

I want to apologize for not answering earlier, I had some circumstances (not related to the game) thank you for your help, I will definitely try your advice, I will be able to write back whether they worked or not only tomorrow. Thank you for your help, it is very nice when such people help, because I am a complete zero in PC😅
Hello, your methods for removing the error did not help me, I did everything as it should be, I changed compatibility with Windows 8 to 7, tried to run the game as an administrator, and also tried to update the GPU drivers to version 577.00, to be honest, I don’t even know how to solve this problem, if it is important for you to know how and where I updated the drivers, then I updated them through the NVIDIA app.

Are you running the game with Dx11 or Dx12? and do you use any overlays from third party software?
What about deleting the LOP.exe and re-verify the integrity of the file.

Can you also list your computer specs like operating system, GPU, CPU, and RAM.

I've looked on the forums and people with NVIDIA 50 series GPU's seem to be having trouble with running this game.

Hello everyone, I checked the method with changing -dx12 to -dx11, the method did not help to solve the problem, the second method with deleting the main LOP.exe folder and checking the integrity of the files also did not help to solve my problem. I think I will try to delete all the game files to erase it from my PC and then reinstall it, I think the problem may be that the game files are confused due to which when the game is launched, the game cannot find the path to them, but the strange thing is that I tried to launch through LOP.exe and even so it did not help me, although earlier I managed to launch the game during the period of time when I already had this error through LOP.exe, but it was enough for me exactly for 2 launches, after which I could not launch the game even through LOP.exe, which is quite strange. If you have any guesses as to what could be the cause of the error, write, I will be grateful.

That is strange. I've never encountered this issue before, but what we can do is a process of elimination. The list of things that didn't work are as follows:

- Re-verifying the integrity of files
- Changing between -dx11 or -dx12
- Launching directly from LOP.exe (Worked 2 times only)
- Deleting and reinstalling game install
- Changing compatibility mode between win 7 and 8
- Running it in administrator mode
- Updating GPU drivers

If there is more things that you've done please include it to the list so that we can try to narrow down what might be the cause of your problem.

And also even if the path location is a mess the game should still be able to launch directly from the LOP.exe and yet it does not for some reason.

My bag of tricks is getting low, but I have a few more ideas:

Disable Firewalls and Antivirus: Temporarily disable all protection, including Windows Security (Defender) and any third-party antivirus software you have installed.

Perform a Clean Boot:
Type "Run" into the search bar, then type msconfig and press Enter.
Go to the Services tab.
Check "Hide all Microsoft services."
Click "Disable all."
Before restarting, open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc), go to the Startup tab, and disable all items there.

This might sound intimidating, but it will simply disable non-essential software you've installed, allowing Windows to run with a basic set of services to determine if other software is causing the issue.
