(DLC SPOILERS) Why doesn't ### recognize P ?
Just finished the DLC, had a great time, but there is something that puzzles me.

Is it ever explained why Lea doesn't recognize Carlo / P until after the final fight ? His appearance has changed very little from his childhood self and she obviously cares deeply about both him and Romeo.

It's heavily implied that Lea is suffering from the Petrification Disease, which affects eyesight first. This would significantly impair her vision, making it difficult to recognize subtle facial features or changes in P's appearance from her memories of Carlo. She is shown to be increasingly weak and struggling with her health throughout the DLC, but of course this is just my thought process I could be completely wrong.

I mean, why doesn't anyone who had met Carlo previously? Some seem to, some only have a vague recollection. Time is convoluted in Lordr, I mean pocket watch ergo

Krat you mean. Few people knew Carlo, I guess? Romeo and Antonia recognize him. Most of the people of the Monad Estate died.
I guess the user above is right that Lea was just sick and didn't think P was Carlo because he died but also just not recognizing his likeness. Maybe P does present as older and if you unlocked the long white hair would look completely different from his normal look.

Yes, I was making a joke that the plot device explanation used is similar. Basically the plot allows some and not others to recognize P as any of the following: a puppet, a special puppet that isn't bound by the covenant, or a facsimile of Carlo in appearance but not personality directly or not. Some characters recognize some of those features of our player character and others do not simply because the story needs them to. The king of puppets knows full well the true identity of P and the full context of it for example. The mad donkey realizes P is a puppet but can't reason why he keeps returning after death
