where are the mac save files for the mac app store version

For Mac Steam games, a game's folder can be found under the file path "~/Library/Application Support".

For Mac App Store games, the game's folder can be found under the file-path "~/Library/Containers". The game's folder should be named "com.___", followed by the game's name and storefront, i.e. "com.a___.appstore". After opening that folder, navigate through Data > Library > Application Support > ___, and you should encounter a second game folder with the game's files.

My saves from PC are not showing up in the macOS Steam version... Steam Cloud status shows as synced (even after multiple restarts of the game), but all I get on the main menu is "New Game"... anyone else have this issue? I can manually set up a Dropbox symlink, but... would rather not have to do that if possible

They haven't set-up cross-platform cloud saves.

No, I don't know what they plan. It looks like an easy thing for devs to implement with Steam auto-cloud https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/cloud#steam_auto-cloud
So maybe they config that or have some reasoning for keeping things separate for now (forever??) :/

Thx for the explanation. I have this issue with playing Lies of P on steamdeck and Mac. Saved games not syncing. Filed a ticket with steam yesterday but received a useless standard reply. This explains why I should play on one platform only. In my case Mac.

You can create a new save file on Mac and then manually replace it with the save file from another platform, but you'll still need to handle the save synchronization yourself.
You only need to click on "New Game," watch the opening animation, and then exit the game.

I could not find my save files. A little tip is you must first show "hidden file" then search for the Neowiz folder. In Mac the shortcut is (shift + command + period)

Direct path so you don't have to search or show hidden files, just press Shift-Command-G while in the Finder and paste this path in:


It will bring you to a directory which will contain another directory that is your Steam user number and inside that, there are your saves

Syncthing works great for this (free and open source), I have an exclude that doesn't sync the .vdf file, just the saves and I jump back and forth between PC and Mac with no issues whatsoever
