Hi there! Knowing Lua is not fundamental to play Retro Gadgets, as you can still download other people creations, use them but also see how they were build and change their customization and aesthetics.

However, programming is definitely a big part of the game, and we understand this might be a bit overwhelming for people who never had a chance to use Lua. For this reason, we're currently working on a Campaign mode, which will be also oriented to help approach Lua for the first time.

In the meantime, you'll find documentation and libraries that will help you learn a little bit more about in-game programming. You can find it here[docs.retrogadgets.game].

Oh my gosh thanks! For whatever reason I can’t learn to program. When can I expect the campaign mode to be added?

Unfortunately we don't have a set release date for that at the moment BUT I suggest you keep following us because we are planning a very nice update announcement to make after we recover from Tokyo Game Show!
