If this game is interesting enough for you to be looking at these boards to see what it's like, I'd say read some user reviews, particularly the better written ones both positive and negative and if you're still curious, grab it now while it's on sale with the DLC as well.

It's a great game with lots of depth, perhaps far too much for a noob but it kind of future-proofs the game because as you grow more competent, you'll probably want to try something 'new' ub the game and you'll find you can do that.

It's a slow game and you'll spend quite a few of the early game turns just ckicking to advance the game but that happens to be true in a lot of 4X games which often have very slow starts.

There's hundreds of hours of gameplay in this and you'll need to spend more than 2 hours of game time to uncover its potential but even if you hate it, it's not a great loss of money at this price.
