Through call of the abyss, characters can be transformed into deep ones, but new family members generated to replace them can be of the deep one race too and inherit human settlements. They don't behave any differently than ordinary human rulers (beside that their race tags are different), and can even transform into a deep one again through call of the abyss curse. This can eventually make a whole family of nothing but deep ones.
