Did you at any point install orcs plus? That mod has weird interactions with the code, although shouldn't still be causing issues after being removed and the game restarted.
I've tried all kinds of combinations of deleted files and can't seem to replicate it.
To answer your questions, I believe I had 2 or 3 games go fine before the error came up. I don't remember if I installed any new mods before it broke. I'm on Windows 10.
(Oh and while I'm here, during the aforementioned 2 or 3 games the "close" button didn't work on the page where you can alter a religion, had to alt+f4 out of the game)
And I did install orcs plus, but I think I had a game or three that worked with orcs plus before this error came up.
Here's the error log:

Anyway, I love the game, and thank you for asking into it :)
It was probably just bad mod ordering or something.
Thanks for the error log. It seems it was caused by Orcs Plus (as suspected, since it's the most technically complex mod and actually changes the game's code).
Looks like it was something to do with the Orc Elder. Since that code was being used during map creation it would break 100% of the time.
I'll message the mod creator about this latest thing, and hopefully it'll be fixed soon. I've been talking to them on discord trying to co-ordinate my updates and theirs to reduce the frequency of these kinds of bugs, and I think we've got a system sorted out.

Just checked the error log, definitely looks like a living societies bug. Or, at least, a mod which internally calls itself "soc_socs_modSocs" which I assume it living societies.
