This is the first and only post we will ever make on the issue of current politics. Feel free to ignore the following, if you are not interested in such topics.

It is something we never wanted to do, but we felt it was important to make things clear in light of recent activities by far-right trolls on our social media.

It is simple:

We are opposed to the far-right ideology of fascism, and those who are current advocates for it such as Donald Trump, Nigel Farage, Stephen Miller, Geert Wilders, and the late Charlie Kirk.

Aside from basic conscience, this position is heavily influenced by the experiences of Steve Blumrich - the father of our lead developer, Eric.

Steve grew up in the ruins of Europe in the wake of the second world war - and suffered much from the consequences of fascism, including contracting polio as a child - a condition that ended Steve's life far sooner than it should have.

Fortunately, he was not one of the tens of millions lost to fascism in that war. Steve was able to come to the USA, where his father worked alongside Wernher Von Braun to get the USA to The Moon. He discovered Rock & Roll, married an american girl, and made sure his children would remember & understand what he went through, as a result of the malignancy and inherent evil of fascism.

Now - none of this is in Peace Island. There is no heavy messaging nor a political agenda - because the game takes place in an alternate timeline in which our current political biases are meaningless.

However - there are some who have taken on the mantle of "Anti-Anti-Fascist" - such as those who have been pecking at our social media.

As it is in the case of instances of double negatives, the secret to understanding the meaning of such verbal convolution is to remove the redundancies - in which case, these individuals are simply Fascists who (for one reason or another) cannot bring themselves to publicly state so.

Needless to say, the political opinions of self-described fascists mean little to us, as makers of a non-violent video game about cats on a serene Maine island.

In the future - should these individuals continue their flying monkey routine - we will simply refer them to this post, as we believe it answers their concerns in adequate detail.

Trans rights
The right to food & housing
Universal health care
The value of public services
Democracy
Non-violence
Equality before the law
Religious freedom
Environmental preservation

We know: some might not agree with us on all of the above - and that is ABSOLUTELY OKAY! Again: we are not here to argue politics.

If you disagree with something that one of our individual creators has said, I would suggest that you address them directly. Understand that throughout the production of Peace Island, we NEVER had a political litmus test - we just wanted the best creative people we could find.

EDIT: We note that 90% of the far-right responses to this thread are coming in at around 3-5 AM, when most people in the USA are asleep, but the Russian trolls/ bot farms are working overtime.
