Oh My - A Gem?
I bought a pack of Nuclear Dawn licenses about a year and a half ago, for myself and a few friends. Before today, I've/we've never really gotten to play it, or really check it out;

OH MY GOD IT'S A SPIRITUAL SUCCESSOR TO BATTLEFIELD 2143, WITH GEATER COMMANDER/PLAY DEPTH AND DECENT GRAPHICS.

I'm pretty much completely going to stop playing BF 2142 Reclamation, because apart from lacking Mechs/Vehicles, Nuclear Dawn is just everything I imagined a fan spin-off of BF 2142 would be.

Let's brainstorm this; how are we going to get more players? The people NEED to know.

I would recommend joining the RedstoneND steam group. We host occasional events which bring a lot of people online. https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/groups/RedstoneND

There's also a lot of Nuclear Dawn players on discord, if you want to come chat with us! https://discord.gg/2AKetQ7

One of the biggest problems is the learning curve. It's not terribly big, but it is extremely steep. Having a few good tutorial vids or something would be great, and we've tried for years. A training course would be even better.

Above all is to get some big meetups. It's hard to get players because all the vets don't want to play unless there's lots of players, and no one shows up to become lots of players anymore.

Finally, voicecomms in game are borked and if we could use discord or mumble to get quality in-game voice that would help. No one plays with voice anymore because it just never works, and you *cannot* stop to type. This game only works with good team play, and that has always been lacking, except in rare cases when some commander uses a mic and it works.

lmao a new person discovers the greatness of action strategy hybrids. Yes, it's pretty great. I'll add you so we can maybe get a game together. it's tough with this one though.

The fact that your Steam level is 70 and you promote Nuclear Dawn just reinforces my initial post; it's good af.

Took me like 30 minutes playtime to figure out the kinks; I'm a FPS and grand-strategy vet, this game is my own little Tiberium now.

Good hybrids are scarce, but I play FPS, grand strategy and massive strategy (Wargame) a lot, I'm right at home here. I'd love a match.

I was a mega fan of 2142, played for 4 years. I never thought of ND as related in anyway to 2142.

I went back to the BF revival for awhile, but just couldn't stay with it. The gameplay was too thin and clunky compared to all the games I had played since. It will still hold a place in my top 5 games of all time though.

Still play 2142, don't think I'd ever stop, at least not until I get a sequel/spiritual successor.

I would suggest speaking with Shir. There was anther problem, which caused teams to get stacked. It wasn't caused by an admin switching a player's team. It was the team balancer.

Nooo this is not possible! The balancer is perfect! It is based on huge experience and sophisticated formulas, along with outstanding coding skills!

We recently added proper team-pick integration to the team balancer. Previously, it was turned off during events, so people could get back on their original team if they got disconnected. Players used this opportunity to stack the teams. Now there's an automated process which attempts to put the player back on their picked team, if it can do so without causing a large team imbalance.
