Resource Changes on Redstone
Hey Guys and Gals,

I would like to let everyone know about the new resource mods on Redstone. These changes improve game balance significantly and make the game more fun to play.

Every 13m, tertiary resource points frack to raise production from 240 res/min to 360 res/min. They can not frack at the start of the game for the first 26m, when resource production is 600 res/min. If the tertiary resource point is captured, it takes anther 13 minutes to restart fracking.

Capture bonuses of 180 res/min generate inside tertiary resource points for the enemy team. The resource production is double for a short period of time, when the resource point is stolen; until the capture bonuses are exhausted. They stop accumulating at 1080 extra resources. They decline at 120 res/min if not captured for 8 minutes. No capture bonuses are rewarded in the first 26m, when resource production is 600 res/min.

Tertiary resource points have 8000 initial resources plus an additional 8000 reserved per team now. Previously, they had 16000 initial resources on a first come - first serve basis. If the tertiary is not captured for 8 minutes, your team starts to lose 300 reserved resources per minute. When resources run out, production drops from 600 res/min to 300 res/min.

Additional tertiary resource points spawn on most maps. These are placed in strategic locations. They spawn based on the player count and when primary resource production drops from 3000 res/min to 1350 res/min after 26 minutes.

Roadwork, Gate, Downtown and Oilfield will now produce less resources if there is less than 16 players at the start of the round. The tertarties produce 600 res/min in the first 10m instead of 26m minutes. Afterwards they drop to 240 res/min trickling or 360 res/min fracking. This is a maximum net loss of 57k for oilfield, 57k for gate, 53k downtown and 43k for roadwork. With fracking they produce less res early game and more late game.

adjusting based on player count is always a good idea... I wish this game had more bot mods though. It's seriously lacking in players. Good rebalancing. :hype:

I feel your pain, there's a lot of it... pity

If you are interested in redeeming yourself and repaying your debts to the ND community, let go of your fakehood and say sorry. If not, then you will just have to help yourself.

Why are most Steam forums a dumpster fire? This comments are garbage attitudes. A good update from someone actually doing something... and you respond with this trash. Better not to have responded at all. Add to the community, stop trying to bring it down.

Man, have you emerged from a cave? Check the forum - community has dead long ago, there is nothing but Redstone spam in here.

So my message was full of valuable content, if you know how to interpret it.

If the community is minimal and only one person / group is keeping it going... that would explain why you're mostly seeing their threads. If there's only one person in a room and that person speaks, it isn't spam. Honestly, if you truly cared about "redstone spam" then you would have already made your own Nuclear Dawn group with a different name. You would already have multiple threads under your group's name instead of expecting someone to do it for you. Empower the community, don't put it down.

Read the forum, pal. There were plenty of groups and servers. They cease to exist for certain reason. Whatever. Off topic.

Agreed, read the forum...
There was a community, we walked away because we chose not to be coerced by this person for looking to tamper with individuals game play without consent through their admin privileges.

Regardless of what they did in the past, I dread to think what personally identifiable information is being gathered from simply connecting to their server right now.

Regardless, my product review stands. DO NOT BUY.

This is a very good update Nemesis, but it's less creditable because my title isn't "Game Developer". Some people worship that title and don't consider other factors like level of education.

My initial post has been updated with a major change to a few large maps. Their early game resource production now scales to the player count. Making the maps more playable with less people. We haven't been playing these maps very often because of previous balance issues.
