Some people are more equal than others.

1. The ability to remain anonymous is a driving factor for conflict. It allows people to say things, they wouldn't feel comfortable saying face to face in an actual conversation.

2. Differences in culture often result in collision interms of beliefs and values.

3. Player skill level disparity increases tension for various reasons.

There's definately more things, but these are the biggest from a moderation standpoint.

Bans? They are pretty rare and often happen months apart, if at all anymore. It's about setting the right tone, while keeping problematic conflicts away from the gameplay environment.

It's actually not that complicated.

A story for you.

Everyone wants to play.

Someone force everyone to play at his home.

What everyone thinks is that as long as other friends are around that's ok.

But for someone, who thinks his home is the best and nobody should play elsewhere.

Inventing playmates to make his home seems the most fun,

Whenever somebody tries to runs a party elsewhere, he comes to spoil the party by crying, wanting to go home.

Long ago, there used to be a few cool kids in the neighbourhood, guess what, somebody keep setting fire to their houses till they give up and moved out.

Why someone wants the game at his home so much? The poker cards are rigged. Every game will use house rules. That's why.

And he doesn't work alone, he has a gang.

Recently some new kid moved into the neighbourhood and feels that everyone should be free to play anywhere. Sometimes at each others homes or the common playground.

But it's a no-go for him. He tried to run his same methods but the mayor upgraded the town that the fire risk were no more.

So he just try to get his friends to flood the party, and be boring there.

But of course, this is no longer the 1990s. Everyone now has a computer, and we meet online and play elsewhere.

That's hard to stop for somebody who's stuck playing at his home.

That's all for the story.

@Captain_Bunneee
Well that makes sense from what I seen in a few forum posts.

A lot of problems on Nuclear Dawn are systemic from the concept of having population for one server. In this instance, the strongest/best server ends up winning and getting all the players.

Other servers on the list are very poor quaility for obvious reasons wether it's being unable to hold the tickrate (not lag people) or unstable as they are not updated the latest version.

People like to shift the blame for losing population (if they get it for a split few hours). But honestly when they lag clients and push too many slots on a small map; that is bound to happen.

Nobody's complaining about having no population. Edit: actually someone recently did.

Better than that kid after all the things he do, everyone shift out the neighbourhood till he has nobody to play with.

What does he do? Ask the mayor to lower the tax for the town. And no, he didn't ask himself anything on what he did to the town.

Great story Bunneee, if only it were true...
...
Oh wait, it is.

Beautiful writing there.

20 full servers of people shifted out of the neighbourhood, not too long after game release. The biggest reason for this was no 'real' team balance mechanism built into the game's back-end.

Think of Nuclear Dawn as a dead game minus one full server at this point becuase of that. And numurous other smaller things put togather, which have an equal or greater impact.

The difference in gameplay is astronomical without this important element. It's not by any means 'normal' for a team to be down five or six players with level 80's piled on the opposing at round end. One or two people can swing the game outcome if not properly offset. five or six is when people value disk space on a terabyte hardrive, higher than the actual game.

I see that d1ckface is still sucking his knob for attention.

Oh well, the shame must be eating him up inside. Good.

Your two week ban on the community hub must have been pretty enjoyable. I can see you're already working toward anther one. It definately was nice not having someone flame up threads.

well, being banned for advising the devs at their work must also be worth a ban in order to create multible fake identities plus fake populate your own server... etc. etc.

You know what I find funny out of all of this, sh1thead actually believes he is hurting people through the internet as is if it really mattered at all.

So angry at the world the little boy is, he has decided to kill himself over a game. I'm glad he is hurting inside, his parents must of enjoyed causing him pain as much as I enjoy tormenting him into a response.

Anyway, unlike this loser, I've got work to do and a life to live.

Good day now.
