game crash
i've been experiencing some game crashes. going to the Support link for the game through steam says you can email support@ghostlore.sg, which i did, which allegedly that address doesn't exist because my email couldn't be delivered.

so i'll just copy/paste what i tried to email to the alleged support

hello
so i've been playing this game for a long time, i have over 300 hrs clocked. with the 1.1 update i've been playing a bunch lately with no issues. randomly now, any time i start the game it just instantly crashes.

it'll crash without any errors or anything, it just freezes my computer. i've tried loading different characters (to see if it was a corrupted character file or something) but it doesn't matter. i've tried just staying in the menu and looking through the configuration and it will still crash.
after about 10 seconds the game will freeze and my computer becomes unresponsive. my keyboard will not work and the mouse doesn't seem to work.

most times the screen will just go green and the audio glitches out and repeats a note continuously, however there have been times where the game will freeze but the game is still up on the screen. its frozen but there, and the mouse cursor will glitch out with like black squares which will randomly change from time to time.

every time i need to hard restart the computer. i've verified the files through steam, i've reinstalled the game through steam, nothing it seems that i can do works or does anything.

no idea what could have caused such an issue or what could fix it. very annoying.

ah i think i know whats going on, though i don't know why

i think when starting the game, it was instantly spiking my GPU to a crazy high temp where it would just shut down/crash.
no idea why it would do that out all of a sudden when it never has before, but i use AMD gpu which infamously has the stupid zero RPM setting, so unless the GPU is under load the fans won't run. and the game would spike its usage/temperature before the fans kicked on and it would just crash before it had a chance to cool down

i noticed it today by just trying to open the game again and seeing spikes of 90c out of the blue. and actually since it was just spikes, it wasn't even turning the fan on because it wasn't lasting long enough.

luckily i can enable to control the fan so i have it set to what i want/like, and it isn't touching anything near shutdown temps now. in fact runs under load in the game lower than it did just idle before.
however i've had this setting/fan control thing screw things up in the past. hopefully its okay now so i can continue to play without issues

this seems to only be happening in Hell Gate Island, where im trying to reroll some gear/glyphs, my fans are just going crazy bouncing up and down as the gpu usage is getting spiked, seemingly for no reason
again this is a very new problem

ok more testing, and nah it happens anywhere im just lounging around. any area, including a map, if im just standing there or walking around
as soon as i start blasting everything and drop literally hundreds of thousands of things all over (money, notes, drops, etc) then the usage calms down and runs normal.
once i've cleared the map if there are no mobs and still the drops everywhere, walking around is still normal. soon as i tele out to a place where there is nothing, usage/temps spike and i hear the fans whirl up

something is definitely wrong. don't really want to be wearing the gpu out with this type of nonsense so probably just play a diff game until its resolved

still frying my gpu just standing still in town or hell island for whatever reason. dangit
im planning on getting a different gpu anyway so wonder if that'll resolve it. probably an AMD driver issue, every other thing is related to AMDs terrible drivers

just got my new gpu. nvidia this time over AMD, and voila no issues.

it was just the stupid AMD drivers. i figured so, its entirely why i was replacing my card and specifically not getting another AMD card
much more expensive for the performance but hey it actually works
