i think when starting the game, it was instantly spiking my GPU to a crazy high temp where it would just shut down/crash.
no idea why it would do that out all of a sudden when it never has before, but i use AMD gpu which infamously has the stupid zero RPM setting, so unless the GPU is under load the fans won't run. and the game would spike its usage/temperature before the fans kicked on and it would just crash before it had a chance to cool down
i noticed it today by just trying to open the game again and seeing spikes of 90c out of the blue. and actually since it was just spikes, it wasn't even turning the fan on because it wasn't lasting long enough.
luckily i can enable to control the fan so i have it set to what i want/like, and it isn't touching anything near shutdown temps now. in fact runs under load in the game lower than it did just idle before.
however i've had this setting/fan control thing screw things up in the past. hopefully its okay now so i can continue to play without issues
again this is a very new problem
as soon as i start blasting everything and drop literally hundreds of thousands of things all over (money, notes, drops, etc) then the usage calms down and runs normal.
once i've cleared the map if there are no mobs and still the drops everywhere, walking around is still normal. soon as i tele out to a place where there is nothing, usage/temps spike and i hear the fans whirl up
something is definitely wrong. don't really want to be wearing the gpu out with this type of nonsense so probably just play a diff game until its resolved
im planning on getting a different gpu anyway so wonder if that'll resolve it. probably an AMD driver issue, every other thing is related to AMDs terrible drivers
it was just the stupid AMD drivers. i figured so, its entirely why i was replacing my card and specifically not getting another AMD card
much more expensive for the performance but hey it actually works
