UI Suggestions
Hello Sinister Design, I am enjoying the game, but I really feel that the UI needs improvements. Here are my suggestions just off the top of my head.

1) A save button in the Settings menu.
Honestly, this has become standardized for all games. It does't make sense that the save button is placed in the "Turn start" menu which is incredibly easy to miss by simply clicking your mouse.

2) The ability to re-order your character list/icons. It's incredibly annoying and tedious to not be allowed to place my most used characters as the first bunch of icons. Instead, I have to look through them all and find which units I plan to use.

3) I'm surprised there's no way to scroll through heroes equipment pages.
RIght now, you need to right click the hero icon to bring up the hero menu, then left click to exit the hero menu, and then right click on the next hero.

Most games allow you to use the left/right arrow, or scroll wheel to move between heroes.

4) Equipment auto-sort? Specifically, equipment is automatically placed in front of consumables. Having your consumables mixed in between all the equipped items is really odd.

5) Equipment descriptions should state which slot they go into.
It really isn't obvious that Lockpicks, Shields, Gauches, Steamthopter, and Binoculars are all "off-hand" equipment, which you can only have 1 equipped at any time.

Currently, equipment only states which slot it is in when it is equipped!

6) I'm surprised it isn't mentioned anywhere that each character has 12 item slots at maximum. Lots of ways to display this information, such as:
- Having 12 Squares drawn in the menus, to show the item slots.
- Having some text that says #/12 items in the hero pages.

7) In the party deploy screen, there's actually no way to go into settings and quit the game. You have to deploy and start before you can quit 😅

8) the "Auto-equip" gear pop-up box only appears after you exit the hero's screen. Which is annoying and pointless since you probably already equipped the gear by then?

9) If the enemy mob has "droppable" items, perhaps have a small gold icon on the bottom right of their sprite? That way, you don't have to right click every enemy mob to check their menus and see which ones have items you can loot. It's a small change, but a huge time-saver for players.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Re 1), I actually agree that it's too easy to accidentally click through the New Turn box! This is something I've been meaning to address for some time now--thanks for reminding me. I've changed it for next week's update: starting in version 1.0.35, the New Turn box only disappears if you click a dedicated Start Turn button (as opposed to when you click any old place onscreen).

4) is a good suggestion, and wasn't hard to implement given that I've already got those algorithms written for the reserve supplies screen's own Sort button. Inventories will now be auto-sorted upon opening the character screen starting in version 1.0.35.

I'll look into 2) and 3) as well.

Just took care of 6) and 7)!

Just FYI, 8) is based on observing loads of new players. (You would be *amazed* how many of them don't think to equip weapons and armor they give their characters, fully intending them to equip those items!) If you manually equip all of the new weapons and armor you give a character before closing the window, by contrast, the game won't ask. Just close it without manually equipping if you want the game to auto-equip for you.

Thanks for the quick fixes!

For #8, I am having it pop up even after I equip the gear manually.
Otherwise, I wouldn't complain about it 😄.

Part of the problem may be adding additional weapons, and it asks if I want to equip the new weapons to replace the existing ones.

wow, that is some quick turnover of feature requests. Awesome work. :)
Really enjoying my first few hours of the game and agree with points of Nitroglycerine

No prob! 😉

Ahhh, okay--if you manually equip something and then give the character another weapon, the game will flag that new weapon as "given but not equipped" and ask if you intended to equip it. That's kind of an ambiguous situation for the game to decipher, tbh. I think I'm gonna keep erring on the side of babying newer or forgetful players there--TTL is challenging enough for them as it is, tbh. 😂

3) is now taken care of, as is 5)!

Implementing 2) would be difficult by comparison to the others. As an alternative, how would you feel about the game auto-adjusting roster order with each deployment to move your most recently deployed characters to the front of the roster?

That would be a great stopgap option, if a manual adjusted order is too much work/effort.

Basically, anything that makes it easier to scroll through the list than the way it is right now!

All right, I'll play around with that and see about getting it in for version 1.0.36.

This is very small, but I'd like if there was a "cancel" button in the settings menu on the main menu screen. Too many times I've opened that window to check some things, pressed "confirm," and had my in-game resolution decrease because I forgot to switch it to the one closest to what I use.

I don't understand what this means. Are you somehow getting the game to display at an unsupported resolution using something other than the resolution selection in the settings?

No, I don't change the resolution on my computer at all. Instead, if I click "confirm" while the resolution in the game settings window is set to, say, the default option (640 x 480), the resolution in-game gets blurry. Then I have to re-enter the menu, select the option closest to mine, and confirm that choice to fix it.

Ah, I see. How is it ending up at 640 x 480 to begin with? Is the Settings menu not detecting and setting the resolution selector to your current resolution?

I have no idea! When I load the game, though, before even touching the Settings menu button, the resolution is just fine.

What resolution are you set to, and what resolution does the Settings menu show when you open it?

3200 x 1800 for my system. In the Settings menu it shows 640 x 400 (48Hz) when opened
