I'll provide the kamina save.
I can't provide the other one as i have overwritten it (and honestly, while i am slightly disappointed coming here to see that it would've been a priority, i probably could've played that one better and saved both)
Thanks, I'll await the save file! I haven't been able to reproduce this issue on my own yet, but I'll probably just end up adding a tag to Sarn Kamina to make her prefer moves which keep her on that central island for edge cases like yours.
Losing Scarlet or Lakshmi in the caravan battle isn't the end of the world, by the way: if you do, the game should procedurally generate some villager recruits to join you and make up the shortfall. (You wouldn't have gotten any of those characters if Lakshmi had survived!)
But i guess making her prefer staying on the central island will probably fix the problem, thanks :)
i'll go check her behaviour now ^^
