also on many of the later puzzles, i don't feel like i actually solve the puzzles. it's more a fill in the dots and watch the convoluted train ride unfold
edit: all puzzles in world 6 are a prime example for that. there's no way in hell i can figure out the solution by looking at it
- while solving a Railbound puzzle, I often find it useful to place track pieces in locations that absolutely need to be occupied (e.g., at ends of pre-existing tracks), which reduces the possibility space a bit and helps with figuring out where to lay the remaining pieces,
- when testing solutions feel free to use the slowdown / fast-forward mode as much as you want (there are keyboard/gamepad shortcuts for those which help with quick testing),
- if you're feeling stuck and want a little nudge, but don't want to have the whole solution spoiled at once, try out the Hint System (available in Settings > Accessibility),
- finally, by using the "Unlock All Levels" option (also in Settings > Accessibility) you can outright skip the puzzles you're not finding fun - feel free to pick and choose only the ones you yourself find interesting. This option is non-permanent - if you disable it, all levels will become locked again except for the ones that have been completed and unlocked.
thanks for the advice :)
i didn't know there was a hint feature, so i'll definitely check that out.
i use the slowdown option often, but sometimes, that's still not enough - especially when multiple switches and waggons are involved. a stop feature would be pretty helpful in these situations (or an option, where you can watch the waggons move one tile at a time forward or backward)
