About 1 in 30 of the trees I cut down ever grow back. For a few years, if I saved and reloaded they would reappear but that no longer works. Has anyone found a solution? Is it worth trying to re-install? Or do I need to quit playing and come back when there's a patch?

Edit UPDATE: I have found a work-around in-game. If I clear the saplings that sprouted up but never matured into trees, new ones will grow. Some of those don't grow into trees either, but some do. If I keep an eye on the forest and periodically clear out the duds, I can keep the trees coming back at a decent rate. The bug is still there, but it's a manageable problem now that I know how to deal with it.
