Since I don't know what's causing your crash. Torchlight 2 files are in 2 different directories you need to make sure all the mods are gone from there as well. You may also need to uninstall Torchlight 2 and reinstall, but I'd still recommend checking the following folders.

1) \My Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2
2) \Steam\Steamapps\common\Torchlight 2 or maybe Torchlight II
3) \Steam\Steamapps\temp

1) has all your config type files and saves. You may need to get rid of the save folder, guts, and the local settings file. Ogre will just be over written anyway
2) check your paks folder and may need to even delete this folder
3) You'll need to know what Torchlight's steam id code is, so if you have a T2 icon on your desktop, right click that, go to properties. For me it told me it was 200710. So that will be the folder under the temp folder you will need to get rid of.

If you need to do a full reinstall. I'd delete all 3 of those folders in options 1 2 and 3, but of course 3 only if T2 has a folder under the temp folder. Do NOT delete the temp folder itself, cos other games will have their own steam id temp folders. I currently have 8 folders under the temp folder currently.

Hope that helps a little.

if i delete the "save" folder in 1) and delete the temp folder in 3) , my all chars and stuff are gone right? :(

my paks folder in 2) is empty, since i delete the mods in there, its fine or i have to delete the complete folder and not only whats in there?

edit: i checked my temp folder in 3) and its empty. didnt have to do anything there

Well if the game is crashing at the moment it's possibly due to a corrupt saved file due to the mods you put in. I have no idea what paks the mod puts in, but there are 2 files by default in the paks folder: Data.pak (pak file) and Data.pak (man file) If the mod changes those at all then the whole pak folder will need to go.

The thing about modding is if you stuff a mod up, it's generally going to stuff a save up. That's why you should back all those folders up before installing.

3) won't affect your chars because it's a temp folder. Temp folders are literally temporary, but you can try keeping hold of your save folder in 1), but it is probably the save folder and files screwing you up. You can try a full uninstall of folders I suggested and then reinstall, and keep your save folder, but that may not fix your problem.

You could try the actual runic forums for any more advice, but mods at the moment are obviously at the persons discretion. Runic of course hasnt released their editor, so any mods are made and used at the risk of corrupted files.

Bottom line, it doesn't take long to level chars again if you do have to ditch your save folder. But when you get T2 working again. Before you put a mod back I'd back up all those folders, just to be safe.

well, if i delete my save folder , my 100er engi on ng+++, my 95er zerker with full gem´d and 4th enchant harbringer set on ng++ get rid with my bad skilled mage. i dont care about the mage, but it took me alot of time to farm the harbringer set and get all in there. even with my engi on ng+++. that sux.
but i guess i have to delete it .. :´(

btw how do i back up my folders for the future? xD
JakGrant 13 Oct, 2012 @ 6:44am
Well, like I said you keep your save folder and delete the folders around it in the My Games folder. And hope most of the saves aren't corrupt.

Backing up ? Same as any files, just copy those folders to another location on your hard drive or create a temporary folder on your desktop and just copy those folders that get created to that temporary folder, as an example: "Torchlight 2 Backup"

so, i delete everything in my games folder, except "save" ? logs and local_settings and ♥♥♥♥ , too?
JakGrant 13 Oct, 2012 @ 6:55am
That's what I'd recommend. But like I said, it may be your saves that are the issue. Can't tell without being in your shoes. But remove everything else in those other 3 folder locations I suggested.

i still get game crashed. well, have to delete the save folder, too....

btw, if i deinstall TL2 via windows, my steam still got in in here right? and i just need to reinstall and not buy again? :p

I'd back your save folder up before you delete it. But you want to uninstall via steam not windows, and then remove the 3 folders I suggested, except the save folder (or have that backed up somewhere), that way you ensure all traces of T2 and any corruption is gone.

well, thanks man.

If you need a respec potion, simply roll a new character, spawn potions using "respecpotion" (I think) in the console, place them in your shared stash and delete the newly made character (it's flagged as a console cheater).. Shouldn't flag your other characters as cheaters, since they didn't spawn the potions themselves!

u getting flagged aswell, if u use a cheated weapon that some1 spawned with console command. so i dont know if that work with a potion getting non flagged.
mimizukari 13 Oct, 2012 @ 10:43am
You can't not get flagged anymore as of the newest patch afaik, if you use any spawned items you get flagged, Just make a new char and don't use mods like that bro.

Man, just go on your library on steam and select to delete local content, then re-download, the game won't be downloaded again with mods in it.
JakGrant 13 Oct, 2012 @ 9:50pm
PedrinhoBit, that does not get rid of all of T2 though. Hence why I told him what else to get rid of, since one can't tell remotely where his files are corrupted.
