Is it possible to disable the telepathic messages?

Yes, seriously, I don't like them taking away part of the fun from discovering the story on your own, and from what I know they weren't a thing originally.

As one of the first games to feature knowledge based progression, it's kind of a shame we don't have access to the original experience that leaves the entirety of the story to be figured out by the player.

So is there a way to disable the telepathic messages?

Good question! I know they added them because enough people were confused by the game without them, but I agree it is distracting most of the time.

Was going hecking crazy when I bought this game from my youth for a friend to play on discord and these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ messages were there. The writer of the game wrote on the PlaysSation blog about this change, so on some level it was at least possible to convince him to pretend it was a good decision, but like, still, the change was made in 2016 and to quote wikipedia:

In January 2014, Two Tribes B.V. filed for bankruptcy, mainly due to disappointing sales of Toki Tori 2, but Two Tribes Publishing B.V., which owns and publishes all Two Tribes B.V. games and handles all contracts, remained unaffected. A new daughter company was formed to handle the development of future titles.
