Map not really helpful for navigating/orientation

You cannot see where you have puzzles lef to solve, and after you learn to fast travel there are three ways to navigate: fast travel, mole holes, and the gates. The two latter ones aren't represented on the map. Furthermore, when you go underground, fast travel doesn't work.

The gates are represented on the map although it is a bit hard to read them correctly. For the puzzles to solve I may refer you to this thread: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/201420/discussions/1/846960628297851478/
Not exactly the same problem but it may help you.
