I can't stump down electric bug in town
I have watched several walkthrough videos and apparently stomping on the ground should kill one of the three bugs,nothing tricky, but for some reason it does not work for me; I have tried many times and it does nothing.

On the other side of that teleporter, there is a frog and berry bug. Up and to the right of the other teleporter is a pool of water... You should be able to walk back through the teleporter wet and stomp near the electric bugs, shocking them to death

Thank you very much, this is tricky indeed; I have never thought of that but now it makes more sense.

Maybe there is some power up that I missed since there is something I can't do in the dark cave, so I may possibly have to backtrack and get all the remaining notes once finished the game for the first time.

I gather that I should dig a hole over there, but the fireflies don't work that's why I thought that there may be some powerup that I missed along the way.

IIRC, there are fireflies in that cave. The electric bugs wake up and move around when in the light... And don't forget fireflies love your whistling

(Apologies if this isn't the solution, it's been quite a while since I played the game :tokitori:)

Don't worry, thanks all the same, I appreciate your kind gesture anyway.

Of course using fireflies I am able to lure the elctric bug on the bottom to the right, but then turns left.

And of course whistling I can make firefly follow me, but other than that they do nothing.

I have watched a couple of video walkthroughs and it looks easy peasy, you whistle and bring all 3 fireflies near that pile of soil and a hole appears, but I haven't been able to do the same thing.

The mole holes only appear if you have been to both ends of the tunnel - they're just a quick travel between places you have already been.

You need to bring the electric bug to the right, which needs light in just the right places.
