-I hope these aren't impossible to get.

I hope so too. It's now the second time I have to reinstall this due to new achievements. 2 times I had 100% and now there are again new.
Steam should count only 100% for DLCs you actually have :(

-Haha, I don't mind installing them or getting them. But if these are like Portal's super rediculous ones of completing a level in forty five (or whatever number it was) steps... -_-

I share your views. I am especially concerned about those like travel 100'000 meters, collect 10'000 pick ups or start the game 500 times. I sometimes wonder whether developers understand the meaning of the word achievement. Launching a program 500 times is definately not something which gamers are eager to do or requires skill.

In my view there should be something like minimal formal standards for achievements, that prohibit achievements like "launching a program 500 times".

That is a good idea.

There should also be a prohibition to making achievements for completing a level normally.

But I do think the 10k pickups is a good achievement. I would like to see an achievement for completing levels faster than you did previously or the developer had.

Does anyone know how to get the "Beat the Developer's Time ..." achievements? So far I was able to get gold medals in three levels, but I did not get any of these achievements. Does anyone know what the developer times are for the new levels?

Can't tell you exact times to beat, but I'm uploading solution for every level to yourube atm.

Honestly, these speedrun achievements are extracting the fun out of the game for me. Having no clue what time you're trying to beat seems utterly pointless to me and is making this aspect of the game quite frustrating. :(

-Hopefully someone is super pro and gets times that unlock the achievement and shares for us. =]

-But launching the game 500 times? C'mon, what's FUN about that?!

Could use some pointers yeah. Still can't beat the first map x) 19 seconds isn't enough

It's not actually launching the game 500 times, it's just doing 500 of the speedrun maps. If you're practicing for the 'beat the developers time', you will get it soon enough.

-Valid point. But I remember when I studied game design, we touched upon achievements, and how they even came to the conclusion of "launch the game 500 times" confuses me. =/

Guide Guide with solutions is up by the way. They are not the best and on some levels you can get even faster times. But they will work and leave you some space to exploration. :) Will add approximate times, but would be good to have dev's input here to be sure that times are right.

Many thanks to K4567 for the vids. This helps a lot!

Regarding target times for speed achievements, I tend to browse through the global leaderboard and check, what the latest time was a user was awarded the corresponding achievement.

I had a look at my stats concerning pick-ups. Currently I am somewhere around 400. So, I seriously wonder what the point of the 10k pick up achievement is. Are developers now creating achievements that are either impossible or pointless to get on purpose?

Could the developers please be so kind as to share with us what the point of creating such achievements is?

This are very approximate times you need to beat, maybe sometims you'll have more time. But aim for 1 sec lower just to be sure.

Speedway: 0:17 sec
Plans for Fans: 0:33 sec
Rotation Station: 0:43 sec
A New Hope: 0:44 sec
Neon Nightmare: 0:28 sec
Lost: 0:27 sec
Time Bomb: 0:55 sec
Ruin Rush: 0:56 sec
Hover Headaway: 0:33 sec
Space Race: 1:15 sec

That's great. I just had another look at my stats. Now it says, I only collected 138 pickups, although I already obtained the achievement for 250. The last update must have reset my stats.

The developers are continuously finding new ways to improve customer satisfaction :-(

I guess same here, my pickup count also dropped by a few 100 after the update. While other levels look ok, my stats for SPEED WAY are now: # Times Played: 35, Pickups Collected: 44.
44 from the 5 times I played it after the update, so I'm missing about 30 x 8 pickups (8 is how many you would always get during a proper speed run attempt).

I wouldn't want that to happen again when i'm at 9000+ pickups, so I think I'll put this game on ice until the developers are done "improving" it.
