interesting custom map

Take the terminus settings and change the hives to 30+.
Change mutations to 30 max
Take off the starting mutations and tech disables
Make the map huge
increase the BP gained per hive and/or starting BP depending how good you are.

Felt like a totally different game. Gets very crazy half way thru.

Yeah, I occasionally go for something like that. Normally turn off Burrowing Hive though as it just gets annoying on a map that size. Other settings I turn up to maximum include the starting squad size, alien flow rate and number of towers per hive. Liberal use of minefields and/or flak cannons becomes essential in order to break through.

Played all the way through. Not the big problem. Try the Epic Survival, IMO a way harder. Unfortunately, that setting does not unlock the Guardian achievement...

If you get the Guardians mutation on Horde/Survival mode then you should really just quit the game immediately - there will be very little point in continuing much further.
