Nope, I'm afraid not.

To be honest, achievement hunting bothers me as a designer. Can you imagine achievements in books or movies?

Sure, if the achievements are given for mundane tasks, like just playing the game, I can see why you'd consider it pointless.

In my mind it's a simpler way of adding an 'unofficial' challenge mode to the game, or to mark progression/completion.
Like beating planetary campaign on the hardest difficult and with 'iron man' mode on.
Or like in Bind of Isaac, where it keeps track and illustrates what items have or haven't been unlocked.

To each their own, I can understand your mindset though.

I know this thread is really old, but I just wanted to say that achievements are a big thing for me and others. It's how I know if I've done something or not, regardless of how much time passes.
It's because of achievements that I've given more time to this game than I normally would to other games. That doesn't mean the game is only good because of achievements, hence why I continue to play weekly challenges just for the fun of it.
I just don't see a downside to achievements at all. As long as they are things that are earned, and not just given for doing simple tasks.

I'd still love to give it a try achievement hunting in this new mode?

I can understand this, even if books/movies aren't interactive mediums. But as an aging gamer, acheivements keep me interested, and motivated to keep playing, or to come back to an older title that I never finished. Without new acheivement goals, I have much less interest in how the DLC has expanded the game.

Fair enough. I like what Paradox does with their games - their achievements highlight interesting ways to play.

Agreed, achievements would really help motivate me to play the DLC to the fullest (and actually buy it, that is).

Paradox achievements are a great model i think. Highlighting different and unique ways to play is much better than games that have 'play 100 hours'
