1) use a scout to remove the shell from each, one by one
2) Drop a cluster bomb
3) Use helicopter strikes
4) Build the Grenades research building
5) Build Engineering and then place a few minefields
6) Build a flak cannon
Once the shells are removed, you're better off not destroying the towers, as they will just grow back again with the shells around them and you'll be back to square one. Use a minigun to target the hive itself - its high health and shield should keep it alive long enough, and its mass will stop it from getting knocked back too much by the spitter towers. Maybe keep an officer a short distance behind it so that when the hive is destroyed the minigunner will get a huge attack bonus for a few seconds, which should be enough to destroy all the towers in a few seconds.
* Scouts are surprisingly efficient at it, but I see you don't have those yet.
* The grenades upgrade does a fantastic job if you can get enough marines in there, although they'll take damage.
* An airstrike will strip the carapace off easily.
* So will a cluster bomb.
* So will a flak cannon, although obviously that's pretty expensive.
* Ammo stockpile + mortars will also destroy carapace-protected towers from a safe distance, but it takes a while.
* If you want to get really cheeky, build the Engineering research, and then plant minefields directly underneath the towers.
Normally the most effective way to remove carapace is with flamethrowers. Unfortunately, impact towers can push your troops back, which makes flamethrowers useless. I believe forcefields prevent impact towers from knocking troops back, so you can use those to protect your flamers.
Maybe I'm just bad and I'm not executing well enough the strategy, either way, thanks for the help!
