Planetary Campaign Feedback thread
So far there've been little to no guides or feedback on new DLC so here we may start.

Disclaimer: I'm no way a pro-player, had some fun expert campaign mode and achievements in vanilla game.

The Good
Planet map feels fresh and enjoyable. There was no reward playing scrims or customs in vanilla, here we got basically the same thing +-several patches.

The Bad
World map seems less newb-friendly now. Mechanics and actions, order of turns seems new.

The Ugly
Morale system and overall tech-locking behind "unfair" mutations feels like...I've been something taken away from me. It's not that CreeperWorld tense-survive-pushback feeling anymore.

Maps (esp in early game) are unfair and require literally several same and only grind approach to finish them - both locally (in game) and macro (in planet map).

Examples
  • Assasins in early game (literally t1 tech and naked mariens) = FF, they will lower your morale (i.e. kill marines) unless you are free on shields and micro - corner management.
  • Infested barrack = teamwipe, there is no way to kill x2 gunners. Like, it's 13*2 = 26 points worth of enemy power. You have no snipers or scouts to deal with them, so...just wipe and lose morale, yeah.
  • Shieled nests in a straight map = FF, you cant heal in early so even with TP (huh 3 marines per full ammo?) that's a slowpoke-feeding fest.
Basically you have to suffer through the early-mid game w/o units and techs we used to have. And judging by global enemy mutations the later we go the worse it will get.

Starting each map with like 4-6 stacked mutations...huh, is it really fun?

Sorry I am just a newb, but this new campaign mode just does not provide me with sense of pride and accomplishment even when I win, because win feels overburden in micro-managing and cheesing

Why there is no way to improve your defence? It s not about turtling, but when you attack Zergs - they have like 3-4 random assist buildings, several walls etc.

You are under attack deeply inside your castle with 5 points of defence?

Okay, just beat it. Depends on RNG, honestly. The way AI will always mutate VS your tech tree, but you are limited in it.

Also, correct me - there is no way to obtain healing in Planetary mode except bunkers and tactical medic drop?

That's really weird - an army w/o ways to heal.
