Worth it?
The game seems quite fun but is it worth it?How's the length and replayability?

The story campaign (the first half of which is pretty much just a tutorial), while fun, won't last a huge amount of time and doesn't have much replay value outside of achievements. However, the planetary campaign DLC and the weekly challenges could keep you going for ages.

Just make sure you get both DLCs as well - they're definitely worth it, especially as the whole pack is currently on sale. As I said, the Planetary Campaign is where much of the replay value comes from, and I couldn't imagine playing without the extra unit abilities provided in Trickster's Arsenal.

Thanks for the reply.
Could you tell me some more about the campaign dlc?
And the game itself is good?

The game itself is definitely good. :)

By campaign DLC I assume you mean the planetary campaign DLC?

Yeah, what exactly does it add that made you say "the planetary campaign DLC and the weekly challenges could keep you going for ages."?How many hours do you think I'll get from the game and the DLC?

It adds procedurally generated campaigns to the game. The base game allows you to play a single RNG mission, well the campain is like a gigantic version of that.

You get a strategic map where you conquer territories and destroy alien bases. You select which technologies to purchase for your army, which abilities to use on the strategy level. There are a whole bunch of new weapons that I added to make the tech tree different each time. I wanted to make something that was very replayable.

If I'm not wrong, Steam allows you to refund DLC. (Read their policy to make sure) You could just see if you like the game for yourself and refund it if it's not your thing.

Whoa, certainly wasn't expecting the dev to be active on the forums of a 2014 game!
I really like the idea of the game but I was worried about replayability/length, but after your reply, I guess i have nothing to worry about if I buy the DLC! Refund should work if I don't like it.
Thanks for the reply!
Also, weird question but does the game have windowed mode?

Yes, there is windowed mode.

Feel free to post any questions about the game on the forums, BTW. I usually read every single thing that people post (and I often reply).

Bought the game! So far enjoying it! Was slightly paranoid after I found that one topic with a guy saying it's malware, and virustotal detected something with one scanner today but let's hope it's a false positive..
Thanks for the help!

I just scanned it myself and it looks like VirusTotal has some sort of machine learning engine - that's what's giving a red warning. I guess that it's still quite glitchy, or maybe it's tuned to be very cautious.

Given that all the other scans come back as negative and nobody has ever reported a virus in the game, I'd say that it's a false warning.

Hopefully! It's giving the same warning for two other games that I've scanned out of curiousity. Either way, I'm really enjoying the game!
