Since the devs seem to be active in the forums: Will there be a sequel?
Please say yes

Yeah it was easy mode, and as someone who does NOT currently make indie games, I'll admit that I don't know all the details of monetization and whatnot. However, despite all the competition, I think you have a solid launching platform. Your only solo game is a really solid entry with no discernable flaws/bugs. It's unique, offers tons of replayability and the like.

The sequel could focus on improving the code, modding, things of that sort. With your current base, expanding and improving the game would probably lead to even greater success.

At the least, I think you should bank up some bucks from your current gig, save up, and prep for a two-to-three-year development time on your own game.

Just let me throw money at you, dammit.

If Infested Planet 2 ever happens, it will be a while. :)

I got a job at Brace Yourself Games after shipping the last DLC, so there's not much time for personal projects.

Maybe you could pitch a sequel to them?

I'll have to ship the current project first, which will take a lot of work. I like your optimism though. :)

Rocket Bear, this game is very worthy of a sequel

I play the game on and off every couple of months and it is just such a perfect RTS fix. There's really nothing like it. The gameplay is perfect and diverse already. I'd just like more story missions. The second to last mission is so much fun.

Necroing this because I feel it's important to let you know that I want to give you more of my money, RocketBear. :D

I love this game, thank you so much. Brilliant concept, can't wait for more.
Thank you.

I would pay money for a steam workshop DLC for custom campaigns. :D
Games like creeper world, particle fleet and battle for orion 2 are going in this direction, if I remember correctly.
And maybe multiplayer (okay, that'll take more work and time).

Or open source the game and let the ocmmunity make updates :P

Another voice to say I want to give you money for wonderful swarms and desperate holdouts. Alien worlds, clever upgrade systems, indirect fire and inevitable doom.

Would modding support be possible at least?

Unfortunately, the game wasn't built with modding in mind. It's a mess of C++ code held together with duct tape.

And a glorious mess it is.

That's incredible! I haven't experienced any bugs. Well, other than, you know, the millions that are supposed to be there...
