Audio Problems & Crashes on Creative Sound Cards Fix
It looks like some computers are having trouble with the OpenAL version that Steam provides. here's how you can fix this.

Download this file: http://www.rocket-bear.com/files/OpenAL32_Soft.zip

Unzip the DLL inside into the game folder and run the game again.

I've had some issues with them in the past, pretty much all went away after I started downloading the drivers from their site and installed them.
May want to give it a try: http://support.creative.com/Downloads/welcome.aspx

I have the same card as others who do have issues with them and I have the habit of not ever installing software that came with the hardware, but start with a fresh install of the latest drivers the manufacturer provides itself.

I had several bluescreens with my Creative sound card. After I unzipped the mentioned file into my Infested Planet folder, everything went back to normal. Thanks! :)

I included the DLL automatically with the latest patch.
