In my other career, I upgraded the drivers to get Tristan Loupe and after the 3rd or 4th season, I bought the Argentinian driver. At the beginning of the 2nd, 5th, and 8th seasons, I build a new car with all 3 parts and just keep pumping money into upgrades\repairs. I took 4th overall after the 4th season and am making a push for 3rd overall in my 7th season.
One thing to note, even if you build a new part and only equip it for one driver during a season, in the next season both drivers will have their cars equipped with the part you built the season prior.
Just to clarify, parts you built don't carry over to next season, but the base performance increases.
If you're keeping the same team members, trying different strategies to maximize your team's traits or saving up money for next seasons should give you a slight boost.
