Why does my Team have seasonal Amnesia?
I start a carrer and within a racing season my team improves... well... not exactly, they stay the same for at least 2 seasons, but there are new parts build for the cars, those parts are stored in the garage and at the end of the season there is a hard fought over improvement on them.

Then the next season starts and suddenly my team totally forgets where their garage is or whatever. The parts vanish and random new parts are found and they build completely different cars from them... um.... why?

Seriously: Why do I even start a carrer to advance through the years when all advancement is basically thrown under the bus each time a year ends? This invalidates almost all progress. This is turning thoughtfully designed cars back into garbage (if you're unlucky with the RNG generator in the random garage my team seems to move in)

This hardly makes any sense at all.

If performance dips at the start of the new season it doesn't always mean you got unlucky - maybe you were just too lucky in the previous season where you got an exceptional car. Lore-wise, it's easy to imagine the engineer messed up while building the new car, which was not rare in the past.

These are only some of the reasons behind the game design, but I hope this provides some insight.

Thanks very much for taking the time and explaning the idea behind it. Seriously, that's a great move I appreciate very much.

I absolute would not want to built a new car from scratch each year. Was that really the way they handled this back then? I honestly don't know but it feels quite wasteful to me. Especially given that the current car was basically already rebuilt a few times during the past season (each time another part) so I really don't see the sense behind the idea.

This also defeats the idea of having a carreer in some parts to me. I can't really take much from one year into the other, other than money and a kind of a discount on the team members from last year. That's not very fulfilling.

I understand that you want each year to feel kinda fresh and remove the probability for some teams having a dominance in tech over the other teams. But what exactly is then the *carrer* part of it all when you start basically from scratch again?

That's not my cup of tea, so I'll drop the game, but nevertheless I respect your decision and wish you all the best with this game project. One hint though: You should offer the player some keyboard shortcuts to change the fuel consumption and driver strategy for each driver to make micromanaging within the race less cumbersome... it's a bit cumbersome doing this with the mouse all the time.

So as I said: I wish you good luck and always a place on the podium.

Cheers!
Ah, sorry to see it's bugging you so much. Maybe one of the upcoming updates will balance out the car rebuilding and let you enjoy the game more. We still have a bunch of improvements and fun features planned, so keep an eye on the news we post. In any case, thanks for the feedback!
