Reading your post shows that you are really out of touch with the game and don't really have a clue what you are talking about. Not that it really matters, coz the game is pretty much dead anyway. Check out the subforum on reddit and you will know why. The bottom line is that the project basically failed - arguably due to the devs negligence - and that's why they won't put much more effort into the game. Even the most well known and committed players announced their leave. That pretty much tells you in which direction this game is going.
The game itself is *good*. Just needs more content and balancing and smartphone support and whatever. The foundation is there and that's the toughest part to get right. I understand Jagex couldn't monetize well enough so it'd be a shame for them to call it quits. If they ever need good ideas, just look into the Runescape lore and ask established players to help balance content.
If there are 80 players around the clock each playing about an hour, that'd make 80x24 = 1920 unique players total. I'd say that's a bit low estimate.
