I don't see a lot of players losing connection when I'm playing apart from when they are losing and do it deliberately. Of course, when people are dc'ing because they are losing, asking the other player to wait on a reconnect might not be reasonable. Imagine the further insult of having to sit and wait to see if they return. Not so sure this is a great idea. Much more crucial issues than this need fixing--namely balance. Each hero had its own ludicrous abilities for the most part, until this last patch. Balance wasn't all that great before, but now it's just broken.
also, as I said, reconnects are industry standard. if you are winning, then waiting for a rope or two isn't a huge deal. you still get your victory, and your opponent gets a shot at a comeback if they dc'd unintnentionally. also, the game can (or should, every other online card game can) tell the difference between quitting the game intentionally, or the program crashing/internet connection being interrupted. like I said, even if the winner has to wait half a game legnth because their opponent quit, they still win, and they spend less time waiting for the win than if their opponent played it out, so I don't really get your concern....
Second thing, there is a reconnect feature, but it doesn't trigger if the client crashes or is closed. I'll mention it to one of the devs and see if that is intended, or if the reconnect feature isn't actually working as designed.
