[BUG] dividing an item stack containing an item with few charges can result in an item with negative charges
Since items generated in the map aren't generated with full durability this can result in for example a first aid kit with 20% durability, while the game behaves correctly when this item is on it's own or in a stack, splitting the stack it is part of will result in the item having negative charges.

I believe that's a known bug. Such items disappear after single use

Greetings, this is most likely done within legacy save (that contained corrupted/changed items through different updates). Or affect of the outdated mod.

If not, we would need a reproduce info on how this happened. Do you remember your steps on achieving this?

If you manage to do this in fresh 0.9/0.9.1 save file, you can submit in-game bug report too!

Cheers.

I bought the game three weeks ago and I haven't tampered with the settings or mods so I should have the latestnon-beta version, I'm not entirely sure when this happens but I guess it could be reproduced by finding an item with multiple charges that can stack such as repair kits on the map since those are not generated with full charge, using it until it has only one charge, merging it with another with full charges and then splitting the stack

Consumable item durability bugs creating shadowstacks or despawning(shuttle inventory was most guilty in my experience) whole stacks of item is very much 0.9 thing even on fresh saves.

All known problems with usages should be fixed already in 0.9

Shuttle stuff is the first time I am hearing about, no in-game reports, no discord threads about it. So no idea what's happening. And 0.9 patch has been up for a few months now.

I tried again on new save file with dev console to start missions, loot on floor many different usage items without full usages bars and then spawn many of same items, stack or restack, consume them, stack and restack. All worked as intended.

As I replied in the last post, we had those type of issues like that in the past, but in 0.9, these should be gone. If there is another/more complicated case how to break usages, we need exact consistent reproduce with multiple different items examples on fresh saves.

In your campaign, many things happened already (including custom upgraded items for example), so it's harder to track/understand what's causing it, and obviously mid-late campaigns got tons of items already in cargo (which some of them could be somehow "corrupted", so that's why you are able to do it again and again)

That makes no sense, I bought the game after the 0.9.3 update and I din't mess with the version. So any bugged items must be post 0.9
Unfortunatelly I can't pinpoint when the problem began, would a a copy of my save file help?

I'm here to say that this is happening to me every once in a while when using the the sort button in the ship cargo. It would merge say a stack of five antibiotics with one, then it would crate a stack of with only the usage amount of one. If I don't divide the six of them out and delete the bugged negative usage one, it will just condense it down to one antibiotic, effectively deleting five.

I can't figure out what causes it. I've tried just splitting and merging stacks in the hold but it only seems (so far) to happen when a new one is added (looted, crafted, or as a reward). Otherwise it seems random and not any particular item (so long it has a usage). I've had it happen to antidote, cigarettes, medkits, and the antibiotics as said above.

I don't use mods and my game (and save) are current.
